Mad Hot Ballroom


What does "teamwork" mean to you?
To me it means to work together and to not let nobody work by themselves.

• 1994 ballroom dancing was introduced to 5th graders in 2 new york schools



• today 6000 kids from over 60 schools are in Manhattan, Brooklyn and required a 10 week course
  


• here the students at one of the schools have more than one family living in one home
  

How do you see these students trying to work together? These students work together by dancing with each other and trying to make each other better then what they were before

• When people learn new things it opens new opportunities in the future
  
• All of the kids are nervous about the compotion

How important was teamwork for these students?
Teamwork is very important to these students because if they want to win the compotion, they are all going to have to work very hard at practice and work together.


What do you think is the main message that these students should take away from this experience?
To work together and work hard and as a team. It doesn't matter if you win or loose, you've gotten this far, and it shows you are good at soimething.


How will you work together with your teammates in this class?
If a classmate needs help, you help them out and that is working as a team.

Drag Race Division Game

In this game the player has to choose a car to race in and start the game. The object of the game is to win the race, to win the race you must answer division questions given. The player has to answer them fast because there are other people playing also and want to win, the faster you answer the questions the faster your car goes.

• To move around and get save the animals you need to use the arrow keys and the space bar
• The point of the game is to save the animals before J Lo. and her emploies capture them and use them as clothes
• The issue is explained because they give information before every level of animals that get hurt so they can be used for clothes

Super Chick Sisters

• To move use the arrow keys to move and space bar to jump
• The point of the game is to save all the ckickens before Mc Donalds Uses them for food and to save the princess that Mc Donalds capture
• Information is given because there is a lady that they can go to and we they click on her it says how chickens are harmed to make Chicken McNuggets

What is the problem that the little boy, Jimmy, has?

He is tramatized,hes twin sister died, they are thinking about putting him into an institution

Jimmy likes to stack and build things. How does this relate to video games?

Strategy and skill is needed to create a game and even building blocks and it feels like making a game.

Playing video games seems to help Jimmy feel better. Why do you think this is?

Helps him cope with what happened to his sisters

What makes him such an awesome video game player?

He doesnt over reacted, he stays clam. He was good at building blocks and strategy.

Crayon Physics

The video that we saw today was about a game that you have to create as you play. You have to use a pen to create objects to get the ball to the star. If you don't want the objects you made or if they don't work you can double click on them and they will disappear.

Google Science Fair

We were watching a video in class about Google hosting and international Science Fair. I think its pretty cool that Google is hosting this because everyone uses Google to find information and with this even more poele will be using Google.
If I were to enter the Science Fair, I would probably focus it on robotics so I can make a robot that picks up trash on the floor, so it doesn't end up in our drinking water.

DiscoveryEd- Video on pollution.

The video was talking about water pollution and this relates to my game topic because my topic is ocean warming. Ocean warming is caused by water pollution because the pollutants go to the water and destroy the coral reefs and the fish in the water. These pictures relate to my game topic because the ocean water can come to our water that we drink and make us sick.
